El-Pais 20/4/2016: Assisi one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
The Spanish newspaper El Paìs on its website has compiled a list of the 35 best villages in Italy.
The list includes well-known municipalities such as Assisi in Umbria, with its basilica dedicated to St. Francis, and San Gimignano in Tuscany, with its historic center declared «World Heritage Site» by UNESCO. others like Serralunga d’Alba in Piedmont, with its castle with a strong verticality, and Riomaggiore in Liguria, an ancient village belonging to the Cinque Terre.
